speaking for half the voters; the other half had a different opinion. We’ll
likely see Gore again. Maybe not. Next time maybe we’ll see Hillary —
one of the Four Horsemen of the Democratic Apocalypse.

I certainly think the show was worth the price of admission! Hope you
saw some of it. What fun!

Gore’s post-election litigation may be moving into mythology to join
other “what-ifs” of history, JFK’s assassination and other imponderables.
Focused on the second decision by the United States Supreme Court, Gore’s
supporters blame the Justices appointed by Republican Presidents for
“deciding the election.”But let’s remind ourselves that the only Court that
ruled in Gore’s favour was the Supreme Court of Florida (all Democrats)
and while its first decision to order a third recount in Miami-Dade, Palm
Beach and Broward counties was unanimous, its second was split four to
three — with the dissenting view lead by the Florida Chief Justice.

And the Judges that decided against the Democrats in Martin and
Seminole counties were Democrats. Their decisions then were upheld by
the Supreme Court of Florida. Gore’s Contestof the election received a
“stake through the heart” from Judge N. Sanders Sauls, a Democrat. The
Writ of Mandamussought by the Gore attorneys to force Miami-Dade to
recount again was denied by the Supreme Court of Florida.

Former US Attorney, Barbara Olson, a Republican, said the
Republicans would have been unlikely to have pursued the legal course
taken by Gore because, “We don’t have the lawyers.”Could be, the lead
attorneys in Florida for Bush and for the Florida Secretary of State —
Richard and Klock — are Democrats.

None of this supports any contention that the Republican appointees on
the United States Supreme Court decided the election on their own. Their
first decision merely Vacatedthe earlier decision of the Florida Court. Their
second to Remandalso sent the hot potato back to Florida.

Perhaps the ballot boxes containing the “uncounted votes” Gore thinks
would have given him the election resemble Al Capone’s “vault” that was
discovered and opened before a national audience a few years ago by Geraldo
Rivera. The “vault” was a dusty room, empty, save for an empty beer bottle.

Let the 43rd Presidency begin!
